The great high privilege,
relief and comfort of friendship was that one had to explain
nothing.
-anonymous
With regard to the choice of friends, there is
little to say; for a friend is never chosen. A secret sympathy,
the attraction of a thousand nameless qualities, a charm in the
expression of the countenance, even in the voice or manner, a
similarity of circumstances----these are the things that begin
attachment.
-Anna Letitia Barbauld, 18th century
writer

If I could wish for my life to be perfect, it
would be tempting but I would decline. For life would no longer
teach me anything.
-Allyson Jones
Love that lives in the heart cannot be so
easily terminated by time, even though the encounter is brief. Its
impression shall last a life time. No one can change the direction
of love that lives in the heart. If you have loved, then it itself
is the answer.

Yesterday is history
Tomorrow a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it's called the present!
Live and savour every moment.

After a while, you learn the subtle difference
between holding a hand and chaining a soul, and you learn that
love doesn't mean leaning and company doesn't mean security, and
you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts and presents
aren't promises, and you begin to accept your defeats with the
grace of a woman, not the grief of a child, and you learn to build
all your roads on today because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain
for plans. And futures have a way of falling down in midflight.
After a while, you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too
much. So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul,
instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers. And you learn
that you really can endure, that you really are strong, and you
really do have worth and you learn and learn, with every goodbye
you learn.
